The process, end to end

From a new name to a closed client.

This is the whole path a prospect travels after they consent. Five stages, and only the last one needs you.

One advisor per leadNever shared, resold, or recycled to a second advisor.
Phone and email verifiedConfirmed before delivery, so bad numbers never reach you.
Consent on recordTimestamped proof attached to every prospect.
Opt out honoredSTOP, unsubscribe, or a verbal request removes them.
The bottom line

Every single lead consented to being contacted.

Questions, answered

The things advisors check before they sign.

Straight answers on where the prospects come from, who owns them, and what we will and will not do. If yours is not here, book a call and we will walk you through it.

Where do the prospects actually come from?
Targeted advertising on Meta, pointed at people approaching retirement who match your planning niche. They land on an educational retirement resource, read or request the material, then complete a guided questionnaire. Nobody is bought from a list, scraped, or pulled from a shared marketplace.
Do prospects really agree to be contacted, or is that a technicality?
They agree explicitly. The consent language is shown on screen, they tick a box to accept it, and that action is timestamped and stored. The record travels with the lead, so you can see exactly what they agreed to and when. The sample record above is the real format.
Are the leads exclusive to me?
Yes. Each prospect goes to a single advisor and is never shared, resold, or recycled. When it is yours, it is only yours.
Do you lock states or provinces to one advisor?
No, and we say so plainly because some vendors imply otherwise. What we guarantee is lead exclusivity, not territory exclusivity. Two advisors can both work in the same state or province, and no prospect is ever sent to both.
How is a lead verified before it reaches me?
Two checks. The phone number is confirmed by a one time SMS code that the prospect enters themselves, and the email address is validated. Fake numbers, typos, and dead inboxes get filtered out before delivery instead of wasting your dials.
What happens to a prospect's data?
It is kept to the minimum needed to respond to their request, encrypted in transit, and shared only with the one advisory firm designated to follow up. It is never sold, never brokered, and never handed to a second advisor. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Can a prospect opt out after they consent?
At any time, by any route. Reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or simply say so on a call or message. The removal is actioned and recorded, and consent is never treated as permanent.
Do you give financial advice or make performance claims?
Never. Funnels and Setters operates as an independent education and appointment setting platform. We give no advice, recommend no products, and make no performance claims. Every fiduciary, suitability, and Reg BI obligation stays exactly where it belongs, with you.
Do I have to do the calling?
Only if you want to. With Done For You, our North American setter team books and confirms every call. With Done With You, your team calls using our system while we coach behind you.
Who do you work with?
Fiduciary and fee based financial advisors across the United States and Canada who lead with planning and want clients that value it, not just product buyers. It is a gated program, so not every applicant is accepted.
What does it cost?
It depends on the program and the scale you want. The fastest way to a real number is a quick strategy call. Book one below and we will map it to your practice.
General education

Know exactly what you are buying.

Most advisors have been sold a lead before and got burned by language they did not fully understand. Here is the vocabulary, in plain English, so you can judge us and anyone else on the same terms.

Prior express written consent

The strongest form of permission a prospect can give. It means they were shown clear language naming who may contact them and by which channels, then took a deliberate action to agree, and that action was recorded. A pre ticked box, a buried link, or an implied opt in is not the same thing, and it is where most lead vendors fall down.

TCPA and the FCC, in plain English

United States rules that govern calls and texts to consumers. In short: you need documented permission before you dial or text, the permission has to be specific about who is contacting them, and the burden of proving it sits with whoever made the contact. That is why the consent record travels with the lead instead of living in a spreadsheet somewhere.

The Canadian side

Canada runs on a consent based model of its own for commercial electronic messages, with its own record keeping and withdrawal expectations. We apply the same express opt in and the same documented trail to Canadian prospects as to American ones, rather than treating Canada as an afterthought.

Why SMS verification matters

Anyone can type a phone number into a form. A one time code proves the person filling it in is holding that handset. It kills typos, throwaway numbers, and the third party form filler, which is the single cheapest way to stop paying for dials that were never going to connect.

What exclusive really means

Two very different claims get sold under one word. Lead exclusivity means one prospect goes to exactly one advisor, forever. Territory exclusivity means a whole region is locked to you. We offer the first and we do not offer the second. If a vendor is vague about which one they mean, ask them directly.

What we deliberately do not do

We do not give financial advice, recommend products, or make performance claims. We do not resell a prospect, run shared lead auctions, or recycle old data as new. Keeping that line clean is what lets every fiduciary, suitability, and Reg BI obligation stay with you, unchanged.

The vocabulary, defined

The terms that come up on a strategy call, so nothing gets past you.

PEWC (prior express written consent)
Documented permission, given before any contact, that names who may reach the prospect and by which channels. The record includes what they were shown, the action they took, and when. It is the standard our intake is built around.
Speed to lead
How fast a prospect gets a first attempt after they submit. Intent decays quickly, so a name worked in minutes behaves very differently from the same name worked in days. It is one of our three keys to closing.
Setter
A trained caller who works the prospect between the form fill and your calendar. They confirm the person is real and genuinely interested, qualify them against your criteria, send your content ahead of the call, and handle reminders and rebooking.
Contact rate
The share of delivered prospects a live conversation is actually had with. It is driven by number quality, dial cadence, and timing, which is why verification and a structured cadence matter more than raw lead volume.
Show rate
The share of booked appointments that turn up. Confirmations, reminders, and sending your material in advance are what move it, and it is tracked as its own number rather than hidden inside a booking count.
Intake survey
The guided questionnaire every prospect completes before they become a lead. It captures their situation, timeline, priorities, income, and investable assets, then finishes with phone verification and the consent step. You get all of it as a brief.
Opt out and suppression
A prospect can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP, using an unsubscribe link, or asking on a call. The request is actioned and the record is kept, so they are not contacted again through the system.
DFY and DWY
Done For You means we run the entire engine: ads, intake, verification, setting, follow up, and coaching. Done With You means we hand you the full system, scripts, and cadence, whether you dial solo or with a team, and coach you between calls through call reviews and scheduled sessions.
Shared lead and recycled lead
Two practices common elsewhere and absent here. A shared lead is sold to several advisors at once, so the prospect fields competing calls. A recycled lead is old data resurfaced as new. We do neither, which is what makes lead exclusivity meaningful rather than decorative.

One thing to be clear about

This page explains how our own process works and defines terms in general language. It is not legal or compliance advice, and it does not change your obligations. Your own regulatory duties, and your firm's supervision requirements, remain yours. If you want your compliance team to review anything here before you start, we will hand over whatever they ask for.
